Following a four year redevelopment, Polly Woodside reopened to the public in early 2011. Housed in Dukes Dry Dock, alongside the Melbourne Convention Centre, Polly is a unique experience, a tall ship in the heart of the city.
The interactive museum experience re-tells the story of this beautiful 1885 tall ship which is a rich reminder of Australia’s maritime history and provides an engaging experience for all.
Round was commissioned by the National Trust, and worked alongside architects Tandem Design Studio to bring the Polly Woodside to life. Initially creating an identity and logo to promote the Polly Woodside and museum experience, we then extended and developed this identity throughout the interpretive display inside the museum. Through the use of typography, colour, texture and information graphics the exhibition takes the visitor on the 140-year journey of this tall ship.
